A Misadventure

Pyecraft was the fattest man in London. He was anxious to reduce his fatness and so this he consulted everybody. The people disliked him because he was always talking about his belly and fatness. One day, a new member Mr. Formalyn joined the club. Pyecraft made friends with him. He had learnt through a reliable source that Formalyn’s Hindu grandmother had left some wonderful recipes. Pyecraft asked Formalyn to give him some recipes to reduce his weight.. Formalyn tried to put him off but all in vain. At last he gave one of the recipes to Pyecraft. The recipe consisted of strange things such as rotten egg. Poison of a snake, brain of a stray dog.
Pyecraft prepared the medicines with all the necessary things and used it with proper care. He was disappointed to see change his big belly. He had spent a lot of money on that medicine. So he was angry with Formalyn. He tried to discuss the matter with Formalyn, but Formalyn did not allow him any conversation. For some days Pyecraft did not come to the club. The n once day Formalyn received a telegram from pyecraft, requesting to meet him at once. Formalyn got the address from the club and went to meet Pyecraft.When Formalyn reached Pyecraft`s house, he learnt that he was shut up in his room, Formalyn was taken aback to find Pyecraft stuck to the roof his room. He was floating near the cornice like a gas filled bladder. He told Formalyn that as he took a large dose of that medicine, he grew lighter and lighter. Now he was completely weightless. It was a problem to get him down. Pyecraft was very upset at this situation. He could not go to the club. Formalyn advised him to saw lead discs all over his clothes, to wear lead soled shoes and to carry a bag of solid lead. By these devices pecraft was able to love about.
