A Dust Storm

A Dust Storm

It was a summer afternoon in the month of June. The sun was very scorching. There was no stir in the air. Men beasts and birds all were perspiring. There was not a speck of cloud between the sun and the earth. The sky looked like a hot copper sky. Everybody complained against the bad weather. The earth appeared to be a hell.
All of sudden, there appeared a dark cloud in the west. The people knew that it was a dust storm. The people rushed to the houses to roll their beddings and put them inside the rooms. The dusty wind approached the town like a giant in the shape of a brown mountain. It began to blow. The people felt relived. Soon it began to blow hard. The atmosphere was full of dust. The sky changed color it was first yellow, then dark red and then almost black. Nothing was visible beyond a distance of five yards. Clothes were flown away; doors banged; dry trees were uprooted; big branches of trees broken off and thrown across the roads. Although, the people shut all doors, windows and ventilators, yet the dust crept into the rooms. Everything in the rooms was covered with dust and sand. It grew so dark that the people sitting in the same room could not recognize one another.
After 20 minutes, the wind subsided and changed into a cool breeze. Heavy clouds appeared in the sky. Lighting flashed across the sky. It began to drizzle. Big drops of rain followed and then came a downpour. Dust disappeared. The evening become pleasant and all men came out for a walk.
