Pleasures of College Life

College life is quite different form school life. In school there is not so much freedom as in the college. The professors behave with the students more politely than the school teachers. They respect the students and try to develop their self-respect. This thing we do not find in school. The teachers keep the boys at arm`s length and very often use the rod. The same thing is true in the case of our fellow students. They also treat us more respectfully and honorably than our school fellows. So the first pleasure of college life is that we are respected and honored like gentlemen.
Another pleasure of college life is the spirit of companionship that we develop in the college hostels. They are the best training grounds for developing character. We have to live among the boys whose tastes are different from us. We have to adopt ourselves to the strange conditions. We try to make ourselves regular and punctual. Hostel superintendent is not a terror in the college. We are given training in running various committees in the hostel. We choose our own president for mess arrangements. We
Choose prefect for discipline. Yet this discipline is not forced upon us from outside. We obey the laws which we ourselves make. So in the college life we have the pleasure of training ourselves.
Then, there are different clubs and societies in the college. There is the dramatic club in which the plays of eminent writers are staged. These plays provide recreation to the students. Then there is the college union. The elections for the offices of the union bring great hustle and bustle in the college. The union holds debates and functions throughout the year. It also invites celebrated speakers to address the college students.
So we can say that college life is a golden life, and one cannot forget it.
